Born in the hill country near Trieste Italy to an Italian mother and an American father, Rita Zaudke came to this country when she was four years old leaving behind the Delbello family and many friends. The influence of the Italian culture from her mother and several trips back to Italy, has produced a rich source of material for her watercolor paintings of Italy. Inspired by the Italian people, the picturesque villages, and the elaborate architecture, she has produced a collection of beautiful paintings which would grace any home or gallery. " As I looked around the city, I realized there could be a painting on every corner. Even doorways and balconies beckoned. Aunt Dolores walking down the street with a basket of laundry on her head, the sounds of streetcars going up the mountain, the smell of garlic and basil coming through the windows... all demanded to be noticed. I knew I could never walk away again without telling her story ... in watercolors." Rita Zaudke
Rita Zaudke has been an artist for over 25 years and has a masters degree in studio arts. Her paintings are found in many public and private collections.
